Great local products, including everything you wanted to know about the importance of bees!
The Orange County Bee Keepers Association (OCBA) is comprised of mostly long-standing, small-scale beekeepers dedicated to studying and keeping bees in an urban environment. OCBA is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers dedicated to the education of local beekeepers and our community in Orange County, CA.
We teach and disseminate educational materials relating to the important role of Honeybees and other pollinating insects in maintaining a stable and healthy ecosystem through publications, demonstration, lectures, and otherwise, as educating the public about these fantastic creatures is one of our main goals. We sponsor booths at local events and are always happy to give presentations to school children and even adult groups.
Local shop Thistle and Scone sells honey and educates everyone on the importance of bees. Highly social and organized, over 1/3 of the food we eat depends on insect pollination and honeybees are responsible for 80% of the workload!
